There was once a little kid who lived in a big city,
The streets were abandoned, the buildings old and empty.
As far as they could tell, they were the only one around.
At first they kept up hope thinking there were others to be found.
After years of wandering, they accepted they were alone,
No reason, no rhyme, just the dark and cold;
No place to seek shelter when all was dead and gone;
No smiles, no laughter, no sign of dawn.
So what do you do when there’s nowhere left to fall?
What do you do when you’ve already lost it all?
By all means, that should have been the end.
The little kid, the tragedy to which they were condemned.
There was once a kid who looked to the stars above.
They prayed for faith, for warmth, for something to love.
They expected nothing, for the Earth was full of cruelty,
But the stars proved kind, the stars showed mercy.
On a chilly Christmas night they found someone by the street:
A white bear on the grass, shivering, fast asleep.
When the bear woke, the two spoke and spoke;
The time flew by and soon the sun rose.
Little did they know this was the start of something grand,
An extraordinary adventure: the stars’ grand plan;
For the kid and the bear — they were meant for each other,
Lifetime upon lifetimes of wondrous endeavors.
The kid and the bear lived in a big city,
The streets were abandoned, the roads old and empty.
Then something happened: new life began to bloom,
Warmth and joy prevailed despite all of the gloom.
Castles were built, empires from sand;
Families were made in the once vacant land.
They climbed so high just to feel the summer breeze,
For all eternity, they knew only serenity and peace.
It was the kid and the bear, the kingdom they adored,
And the promise that they would cry no more.
It was the kid and the bear and the planet they loved;
They’d outlive the Earth, return to the stars above.
At last, the kid looked at all that had grown,
They smiled and they whispered, I am home.
